pulchritudinous

[pul-kri-too-di-nuhs]

adjective Meaning extremely beautiful — but with a spelling that looks like someone challenged you to type it with gloves on under water.
EXPLANATION

Pulchritudinous is a fancy way to describe something — or someone — strikingly gorgeous, so stunning it practically deserves its own cinematic montage picture Raquel Welch or Marilyn Monroe in their prime. Imagine the glow of a sunset in La La Land while someone drops a dramatic slow-mo pizza slice into your hand — that’s pulchritudinous energy. Even though the word looks like someone is trying to cheat during Scrabble but experiencing a rack meltdown, its all about elegant beauty, muah,  chefs kiss.

Origin of – Late 1600s–1700s; from Latin pulchritūdō meaning “beauty.” In other words, this word has been around long enough to have judged every fashion trend in history — and still look chic doing it, however it looks like old Geppetto was drinking while trying to write Pinocchio’s name.

Example: That sunset at the outdoor pizza party was so pulchritudinous it looked like Bradley Cooper hand-delivering garlic knots while Lady Gaga serenaded us — greasy buttery popcorn fingers and all, naturally.

How to use: Use pulchritudinous when something is undeniably beautiful but you also want to sound like you own at least one leather-bound book — “That rooftop pizza party at golden hour was absolutely pulchritudinous.” – warning, please use while sober, known to cause breakups and bruised egos.
