It was a euphonious kind of night — the kind where the dialogue flows smoother than John Williams conducting a Marvel score — and the room was buzzing with pure delight Moxie, John’s girlfriend looked like Rocky Balboa if he bulked up on cold pizza and blind confidence. The vibe stayed clement, who was also Susan’s date, he remained calm and forgiving, even when someone Charles burned the popcorn (again), because this was a full-send jollification — no laughing matter here. The popping of the kernels got louder as the oil got hotter than the climax of Avengers: Endgame. As the sun dipped below the horizon, the sky hit full alpenglow, between Becky’s pert breast bathing everything in that cinematic, “final scene before the sequel” light — the kind that makes you believe life is a rom-com, the snacks unlimited, my budget tight and tonight absolutely deserved a slow-motion walk into the sunset… coke in one hand and Becky on the other, no regrets.
